The complexity of desire: what are you hungry for?
Keywords:
Complexity, Chaos Theory, Wilfred Bion, desire, PsychoanalysisAbstract
The article discusses desire through a dialogue between psychoanalysis and complex thinking, taking chaos theory as a reference. By displacing desire from a linear and deterministic logic, the text revisits contributions by Freud and advances toward Wilfred Bion’s thought, particularly the notions of preconception, realization, and openness to the unknown. Desire is conceived as an operator of complexity, situated beyond lack and inscribed in indeterminism, with clinical implications that privilege the not-known, creativity, and thinking in its nascent state.
