This article aims to reflect upon the analyst’s place as the guardian of the enigma when placing the patient in treatment, with a view to conceiving a space that ensures both the circulation of the drive and the preservation of the establishment of enigmas. To achieve this understanding, a theoretical path will be traversed through the authors studied in the psychoanalytic training at Constructo—Sigmund Freud, Jean Laplanche, and Silvia Bleichmar—complemented by the contributions of contemporary authors. Clinical vignettes will be utilized to elucidate fundamental concepts of theoretical understanding for application in clinical practice
